In Richmond Manor Apts v. Certain Underwriters at Lloyds of London, Grossman Roth trial lawyers brought a class action complaint on behalf of all Florida property owners who suffered hurricane damage and had a large out-of-pocket hurricane deductible assessed against them. The claim was based upon Lloyds’ failure to include statutorily-required notice language about the large deductible on the face of the policy. After several years of intensive litigation, Grossman Roth trial lawyers were able to reach a $39,000,000.00 settlement that assured Florida property owners would be entitled to receive 65% of their hurricane deductible back.
