In 2008 alone, Mr. Miles helped his clients achieve verdicts and settlements in excess of $107,000,000 in cases ranging from products liability to medical malpractice to amusement park rides. Three of his verdicts or settlements were listed as a Top Verdict or Settlement by the Daily Business Review, South Florida’s preeminent business and legal publication.

Mr. Miles received an $80,000,000 verdict on behalf of three Cuban migrants forced to work as modern day slaves at a drydock. As a result of his work on this case, Mr. Miles received the prestigious “Most Effective Lawyer” award given by the Daily Business Review. Mr. Miles also received a $1,700,000 verdict in an automobile accident case in Volusia County, Florida. This is believed to be the largest automobile accident personal injury verdict in the history of Volusia County.

Mr. Miles graduated from Northwestern University and earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. Following law school, Mr. Miles served as a law clerk to the Honorable Patricia A. Seitz on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. After clerking, Mr. Miles worked in the litigation department of an international law firm. Mr. Miles then served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the criminal division of the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida. While serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Miles tried numerous jury trials on matters ranging from airplane skyjacking to healthcare fraud and argued before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
