Lauren Acuna

Lauren’s biggest asset is her desire to help those who have suffered due to negligence. She is passionate about the investigative process and approaches every case with thoughtfulness and tenacity.

Lauren brings to GRYC over 15 years of experience in the legal field. She started her career at a large insurance defense firm where she cultivated a special interest in medical malpractice which has become her main area of focus. She has focused almost exclusively on medical malpractice throughout her career.

For over a decade Lauren worked as a paralegal for firms which defended large health systems and worked one-on-one with clinicians in preparing their defense. These years gave Lauren a unique perspective to the inner workings of large hospitals and the thought process of medical professionals while treating patients; it also gave her an inside view of how defense attorneys build their defense of these claims. She worked under the tutelage of attorneys who allowed her to have a hands-on role in the investigative process of negligence claims and learned how to investigate the causal relationship between the negligent act and the damage the plaintiff suffered.

After leaving the defense arena Lauren joined a small Plaintiff’s firm, hired mainly because of her experience and knowledge of medical malpractice claims and her inside view of how defense firms evaluate their cases, select their experts, and navigate the defense of these claims. Lauren’s years as a paralegal and case manager provided experience in every phase of litigation from pre-suit to trial. 

Most recently, Lauren served as a Claims Manager for a nationwide physician group focused on Women’s Health and Pediatric specialties. This role afforded Lauren an inside perspective of how large physician groups and insurance companies investigate, manage and ultimately value catastrophic, high damage medical negligence claims.
