On October 10, 2012, a concrete platform collapsed at a parking garage under construction at Miami-Dade College’s West Campus in Doral, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The collapse, which occurred on the fourth floor of the structure, resulted in the death of four workers and several other workers suffering serious bodily injuries. Our firm represented the surviving wife and two minor children of one of the workers who was tragically killed in the collapse. For more than a year, our firm was one of three law firms who spearheaded the litigation against multiple entities and ultimately obtained a confidential collective settlement on behalf of all the workers and their surviving families.
