GRYC's Gary Cohen on CBS Discussing Florida Nursing Home Deaths

After 14 seniors died from negligence following Hurricane Irma at The Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, it’s crucial now more than ever that these establishments are prepared for every possible situation. This tragedy shows how vulnerable our elderly really is, and without proper laws and programs in place, this can very well recur.

Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen, leading medical malpractice and negligence attorneys in the state of Florida, is seeking justice for these victims and their loved ones. Our firm is fighting to ensure this does not happen again.

Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen partner, Gary Cohen, was recently interviewed by CBS 4 Miami to discuss the case and the six families he’s representing.

“They all have a very similar story to tell regarding the nightmares [they’ve endured],” said Cohen. “Some people died but a lot of them didn’t die, so many are having survivor’s guilt.”

Gary Cohen joins a number of attorneys working together on the case, hoping to find a resolution to the tragedy. To watch the interview or to learn more about the developments, check out the interview with Gary and Jim DeFede, an investigative reporter at CBS 4 Miami.

Hurricane Irma was a devastating reminder of the vulnerability senior citizens face in the wake of natural disasters. The series of events that happened will never be forgotten by the senior residents, their families, and the community.
