Our South Florida firm, Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen made a substantial donation of $25k to Feeding South Florida during Give Miami Day, virtually presented by The Miami Foundation, as part of our ongoing effort to help our local communities in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.
Give Miami Day is a 24-hour fundraising event in which locals are given the opportunity to be philanthropists by donating to the local nonprofits that continue to serve our community amid the COVID-19 (or coronavirus) pandemic, which has undoubtedly wreaked havoc on our nation and gone hand in hand with an economic crisis. On Give Miami Day, everyone is encouraged to donate to one or more of Miami-Dade County’s myriad nonprofits; all donations are matched.
Thus, by donating $25k to Feeding South Florida, our donation — which would regularly buy 225,000 meals — bought 450,000 meals for community members in need, especially those negatively impacted by COVID. Combine this with our prior donation of $25k to Feeding South Florida earlier this year, and Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen has contributed a total of $50k to help combat hunger in the tri-county area through this local nonprofit food bank. This amounts to a stunning 675,000 meals purchased for South Florida families. In addition, we also donated meals to more than 30 South Florida fire stations, emergency (ER) departments, and police departments. We also made a donation of 2,000 face masks to Baptist Health and Cleveland Clinic Florida hospitals for their frontline workers.
We are more than happy to step forward and help our communities any chance we get, especially during a year full of unprecedented difficulties. If you or a loved one is seeking legal representation, we can also help with that.
