MIAMI, February 4, 2020 — Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen, trial lawyers devoted to achieving justice for people and businesses damaged by other’s negligence or misconduct, today announced Alex Arteaga-Gomez and William P. Mulligan have been promoted to partners at the firm.
Arteaga-Gomez joined the firm two years ago and works on cases in a variety of matters, ranging from general liability and products liability to medical malpractice and complex litigation. Prior to joining the firm, he was an assistant federal public defender for the Southern District of Florida, where he represented clients at trial and appellate levels.
Prior to his time in public service, Arteaga-Gomez was an associate at Scott A. Srebnick, P.A., where he represented individuals in white-collar criminal and civil matters. Between his private and public practice, Arteaga-Gomez has tried numerous jury trials in multiple jurisdictions, argued before state and federal appellate courts, and appeared as co-counsel before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mulligan has been at the firm for four years and focuses his practice on personal injury and medical malpractice disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Mulligan was an associate specializing in personal injury and insurance defense at Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy and Ford.
Arteaga-Gomez graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Law and began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Adalberto J. Jordan, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Arteaga-Gomez is a contributing member of the Federal Bar Association and Florida Justice Association and has twice been a finalist for the Daily Business Review’s annual “Most Effective Lawyer” award.
A Miami native, Mulligan earned his bachelor’s degree at the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida and his law degree from Boston College Law School, where he worked as a student practitioner representing clients who could not afford legal counsel. Mulligan is a contributing member of the Florida Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, and was selected for Super Lawyer’s “Florida Super Lawyers Top List” and its 2019 “Florida Rising Stars” list.
