Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen (GRYC), a South Florida based law firm well known for its unrivaled team of trial lawyers, announced that Aimee Ferrer, now former Supervisory Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Southern District of Florida, and active community leader, has joined the firm as Partner.
Prior to joining GRYC, Aimee served for fourteen years as a Supervisory Assistant Federal Public Defender and Assistant Federal Public Defender where she tried more than 30 federal jury trials to verdict. She began her legal career practicing law in Washington D.C. at a nonprofit organization litigating family law cases on behalf of immigrant victims of domestic violence. Immediately following, she worked as an associate at a prominent New York law firm where she helped fortune 500 companies and large financial institutions ensure compliance with securities law and defended them in various civil litigation matters.
Aimee also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul C. Huck in the Southern District of Florida and remains active in the Southern District of Florida bar, having served on the Southern District of Florida's Bench & Bar planning committee and Hispanic Heritage Month planning committee.
“Aimee brings to the team a background that is unmatched. We are confident that her deep commitment to justice and extensive experience representing clients with diverse backgrounds facing life-changing consequences gives her the exceptional insight our clients have come to expect for the last 35 years,” says GRYC Co-Founder Stuart Grossman.
“Aimee has proven throughout the course of her career that she is a brilliant researcher and writer. She is very much looking forward to and embracing the complex legal issues our firm’s clients encounter,” adds GRYC Co-Founder Neal Roth.
Aimee is an active community leader who is deeply committed to South Florida. As the First Vice-Chair of the Miami Dade Human Rights Commission, she volunteers on a quasi-judicial county board that hears appeals from violations of Miami Dade County Ordinance prohibiting discrimination in housing and employment. She also serves as board chair of the board of Engage Miami, a local youth civic engagement organization.
Additionally, Aimee teaches trial skills to law students and practicing attorneys in the Litigation Skills/Trial Advocacy programs at University of Miami Law School, Emory Law School, and in NITA programs throughout the country. She is a frequent panelist and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) speaker who has spoken to various bar associations about the art of jury selection and how to receive a fair trial.
About Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen
Since 1988, Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen has represented families who have lost loved ones due to someone else's negligent actions. Combining experience, skill, and integrity to help clients seek justice, the firm has a proven track record of success. GRYC remains unique among medical malpractice and personal injury law firms because the team is selective about the cases pursued. This allows for a more thoughtful client experience –whether our attorneys are representing plaintiffs in a multi-district class action against the largest banks or corporations in the nation, defending a small business or individual in a civil matter, or helping a grievously injured client obtain the funds needed to rebuild their lives, the team at GRYC will be with you every step of the way.
