With over 15 years of experience investigating medical malpractice claims for numerous reputable consulting firms, Marlene Perez is a seasoned professional in the industry. After graduating from Florida International University, Marlene worked as a claims consultant with Medical Risk Consultant Group, where she was responsible for the investigation and evaluation of medical malpractice claims on behalf of Physicians Protective Trust Fund.
She then moved on to a position with Claims & Risk Management Services where she was responsible for the investigation and evaluation of physician, hospital, and nursing home malpractice claims, as well as general liability claims, on behalf of numerous professional liability insurance carriers. Marlene later worked as a medical chart reviewer and then as a senior project manager for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS); a set of performance measurements utilized by more than 90 percent of health plans in the United States to compare how well a plan performs.
Marlene also co-founded Medical Investigative Services, Inc., a medical investigative firm responsible for the investigation and evaluation of physician, hospital, and nursing home malpractice claims, in compliance with Florida Statutes. This extensive experience and understanding gives Marlene invaluable insight when investigating cases in the healthcare industry. Marlene has also sharpened her business skills by owning and running an art education franchise business as well as an online retail store.
